Draft for lawyer review. This terms page is a working draft for ProfitLane, a tracking-only finance app. It is not legal advice and it is not a finished policy. Have a lawyer review it before anyone relies on it or treats it as binding.

Terms of use
The service
ProfitLane gives you a private place to record a route business and, if you want, a paycheck beside it. You can track income, profit, mileage, receipts, a tax set-aside, a cash forecast, goals, nearby gas prices, and a tax estimate.
The service records numbers. It does not hold customer payments, pay your bills, move money between accounts, or file anything with a tax agency.
Your records
You are responsible for what you enter, import, or connect. Totals, set-asides, forecasts, mileage deductions, and the tax calculator are estimates built from those records and from simplified published rules. They are not tax, legal, or investment advice, and they are not a determination of what you owe.
Check figures with a qualified preparer before you rely on them for a filing or a payment.
Plans
Free, Basic, and Pro are described on the plans page, including the displayed monthly and yearly prices. On the website, checkout stays disabled until Stripe keys are set. Inside the iOS and Android apps, plans are bought from Apple or Google and stay disabled until RevenueCat keys are set. This app does not store a card number, and website checkout links are not shown inside those apps. New ledgers include a 7-day Pro trial that changes which features are open. It is not a purchase. The Founding 50 offer, when it is open, is Pro free for 30 days, then $9.99/mo or $89/yr locked for life. It is not the standard trial.
Banks, location, and categories
Bank linking is optional. If you continue past the consent screen, Plaid is asked for read-only transactions. ProfitLane does not receive your bank password and cannot start a transfer.
Location is used while the mileage tracker or the gas search is open, and, on the iOS and Android apps only, in the background when you turn Auto-track on. This app collects location data to record drives for your mileage log even when the app is closed or not in use. If you deny that permission, Start and Stop still work. An optional model may label an expense from its description when keyword rules do not match. Details are in the draft privacy policy.
Acceptable use
Use the ledger for your own business and personal records. Do not attempt to access another person's data, disrupt the service, or use it to store data you have no right to keep.
Ending an account
You can delete the ledger from Settings after typing your email, on the website and inside the iOS and Android apps. Deleting the ledger does not cancel an Apple, Google, or Stripe subscription. That removal is described in the draft privacy policy. Sign out leaves the data in place until you delete it.
Draft status
These terms are a draft for counsel. They do not set a governing law, a liability cap, or a warranty. A lawyer needs to add those before this text is treated as the agreement. Until that review, the product is offered so you can keep your own books, with the limits already stated: no custody of funds and no professional advice.
